60 SECONDS OF MUSIC
The students chose a digital audio workstation. The created 60 seconds of music using their own recordings, songs, samples or combinations of all three.
Students used google slides to prepare short biographies of musicians and living composers.
Students used a Beginning Band Skills Book. Each book contains 10 skills. The students made short videos demonstrating the first 5 skills.
SIGHT READING FACTORY
The students used a program called sight reading factory. The programs produces a rhythm. The students have 30 seconds to look at it. The program starts recording and the students must count and clap the rhythm. This is a rhythm they have never seen and had only those 30 seconds to practice.
We began the year making band memes. The class will end with some of those memes.
